Brown Hare in graphite on paper, 45.8cm x 29.2cm.
An interesting challenge this one, specifically the way the deep hair opened up to show the under-layers on the front of the animal, leaving some of the top ones over lapping at all angles and the under-fur being very much thicker and softer. I enjoyed trying to get this one down, especially with that very beady eye and strong contrasts. You just know it’s about to bound off into the long grass somewhere.
