I’ve been experimenting with the coloured pencils again today, only this time using some thinners instead of dry blenders. I was curious to see what the result would be, so I had a go with Zest It (does the job, leaves a light orangey scent). I used it to blend the underlayer of colour I laid down, and once it was dry I was able to then go back over that with the dry colours. I’m rather pleased with the results of this sketch, certainly gives me confidence to work more with it in future. It’s certainly quicker than using the dry blender in many cases, so there’s that to it too. Ultimately, for a sketch I’m fairly pleased with it, but there’s definitely room for improvement. But that’s what practice is for!
