“Otter on Fallen Tree”, A3 graphite on paper.
This one took quite a while to get finished, but I’m pleased with how it came out in the end. The last few tweaks and adjustments were certainly worth the extra effort I think to get them just “so”.
Otters thankfully are one mammal that is having some measure of success in the UK as the waterways are getting cleaner. But that is a fragile balance, they could still suffer easily due to human intervention and action. Which is why their habitat needs to be looked after as much as possible, as having a thriving Otter population in a river system is a great indicator of a healthy environment: after all, an ecosystem can’t support a top predator without a solid underlying system supporting it.
